Update about the
Electronics Ban Bill: (1/30/10)
County Council Bill 2336 making it illegal to use
handheld electronic devices while driving has not been
passed yet, but Derek Kawakami has assured us Amateur
Radio operators will be exempt.
Electronics ban bill
introduced
The Kauai County Council is considering an
ordinance making it illegal for Kauai drivers to use
handheld electronic devices when driving. They are
having a hearing and could pass the bill Wednesday,
January 13, 2010. I would ask that each of you send
an email to one or more council members explaining
the importance of Amateur Radio and why licensed
radio amateurs should be exempted.

amateur radio operation. On our web page you will see listed some of
the activities we currently have going.
