Join us for the new EmComm Net this Thursday, and every Thursday thereafter at 7:00 PM on the KH6E Repeater frequency on 146.92 MHz. This net is designed for the new amateur radio operator but anyone is welcome to check in as well. Nets, or Networks, are crucial to effective communications in event of an emergency. Here is your chance to practice speaking over the air and learn more about emergency message handling and procedures. You will also have an opportunity to ask questions.
Inaugural Event
EmComm (Emergency Communication) Net
Thursday, April 9, 2009, marked the first EmComm Net for the Kauai Amateur Radio Club. This inaugural event was punctuated by the participation of ten brave souls who checked in to the net and are now its charter members.
The EmComm Net is a means for new hams to develop their emergency communication skills. Net proficiency is crucial for emergency communication operators as it is the foundation on which effective communication happens in an event.
The EmComm Net meets every Thursday, at 7:00 PM, on the club repeater at 146.92 MHz. with relays from the 146.70 MHz repeater.
