SEPTEMBER

September 10, 2007, 2nd Monday at 7:00 PM, Kauai ARC Monthly Meeting at Koloa Union Church, 3289 Poipu Rd., Koloa, HI  (Map of location in Koloa

September 11, 12 & 13  Envisioneering Company is sponsoring a “School Science Show” in September and they have asked me if the ham radio community would like to set up a ham radio demonstration.  I said “YES.”  This is a great opportunity to show off ham radio to hundreds of school age children.  The event runs for three days (September 11,12 & 13) from about 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m...  Students in grades 4, 6 & 8, from all public and private schools will be attending the show.  This is the fourth year the show has been presented and is a highlight of the school year.  Besides hundreds of children there will be parents, teachers and teacher’s aids, as well as a few dignitaries sprinkled around.  The show is held at the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall and we have a tent right out front to do our demonstration.  I will be working as part of the staff so I will not be able to participate in the operations but will be around to help out when needed.  We need someone to organize and be in charge and schedule the volunteers (you don’t have to be there all three days).  OK, who wants to take it on as a personal project?  E-mail me@ kh6hu@arrl.net, or call me @ 742-1730.

September 15  Jack Mackinnon, K6TYF will lead a ham cram and test session in Lihue on September 15, under the auspices of W5YI-VEC.  The session (for all amateur class licenses) will begin at 8:00 AM with tests given at 4:00 PM.
The cost will be $20 for all license classes for study and test materials. If you have already studied, and only want to take a test, please show up at 3:30 PM, the test fee is $14. Make all checks payable to Jack Mackinnon.
Extra Class licensees should plan on studying prior to September 15.
